Computer Guide for Students

The College has over 160 computers at various points around the school. These are all networked enabling staff and students share resources such as printers and the internet.

There are 5 classrooms with computers for students to use including the Library. The Library has 10 computers which are used mainly for research on the internet.

Our recently renovated SSC, now called the Technology Centre, has 70 new computers. One area has an open plan which enables one to two classes to work in the area at once. The compact computers and large flat screens enable students to work effectively.

The Technology Centre also houses a computer lab of 26 computers with a fixed data projector to enable Teachers to show a range of multimedia presentations and demonstrations. It is extremely useful for demonstrating procedures with different software packages.

New to our curriculum this year is Information Technology. All Year 7 and 8 students have one period per cycle of IT where they are working through the ICDL (International Computer Drivers License) and learning other IT related skills. It is hoped this will increase the IT Skills of our students.
