Principal - Br Michael Flanagan

Brother Michael is a noted and experienced Catholic educator. For the last five years he has been involved in the spiritual development of teachers in Marist schools across Australia and in the formation of young Brothers as Master of Postulants. Before moving into this role, Brother Michael was the founding Principal of The John Berne School in Sydney, a Catholic Special School for young people from Years 7-10, providing outstanding leadership there for ten years. In 2007 Brother Michael was awarded the prestigious Br John Taylor Award for Excellence in Catholic Education from the Catholic Education Commission of NSW. Br Michael at the recent Mission Assembly in Mittagong.

Previously, Brother Michael held various positions in Marist schools throughout New South Wales and Queensland. He was Deputy Principal at St Gregory's College Campbelltown and Benedict College Auburn. Other positions of responsibility have included his being Religious Education Coordinator at Parramatta Marist High School, Benedict College, and St Gregory's College, and Head of Boarding at St Gregory's. Brother Michael has a Bachelor of Education from Macquarie University, Sydney, and a Master of Arts (Applied Ethics) from the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium. He has also completed studies in spirituality and mission at the Aquinas Academy in Sydney, St Bueno's Spirituality Centre in Wales, and the Australian Catholic University.

 

Deputy Principal - Mr Stephen Dwyer

Stephen Dwyer commenced at Red Bend in 1992. He was appointed Director of Mission in 2004. Previous to this position he was the Religious Education Coordinator and a Year level Coordinator.

He completed a Bachelor of Education at Australian Catholic University majoring in Religious Education and Mathematics. He is married with three children and loves the life of a rural community. He admires the spirit of the college community where all are encouraged to reach out and support one another.

 

Director of Curriculum - Mrs Trish Martin

Trish lives in Parkes with her husband Peter and their three children. She commenced teaching at Red Bend in 1989, having moved from Sydney where she had been the History Coordinator at St Dominics' College, Kingswood.

At Red Bend Trish has had a variety of positons of responsibility including pastoral care and curriculum development. In 2001 Trish was appointed to the Director of Curriculum's role. Trish is still actively involved at the chalk face and teaches Studies of Religion, Legal Studies and Modern History.

Trish's aims for Red Bend are to continue to raise the academic standards, support teachers and their students in their endeavours to achieve their personal best and to provide a diverse curriculum that caters for a variety of learning styles and interests.For Trish Red Bend has a genuine spirit where the staff and students are selfless with their time, supportive of one another and truly foster the Marist spirit.

Business Manager - Mrs Carolyn Duncan

Carolyn Duncan was appointed as Business Manager of Red Bend Catholic College in March 2000. She is a CPA Accountant and married with three adorable girls. She enjoys working with figures and finance.

She admires the community spirit and support shown by all members of the College community in these times of financial adversity.
